Biography
Dr. Yusaf H. Akbar is a Full Professor in Management at Central European University, Vienna, Austria.
He is Founding Editor of the International Journal of Emerging Markets.
His consulting and professional references include Accenture, Citibank, Deutsche Telekom, Siemens and Toyota and an advisor to the European Commission and other governmental authorities.
His research interests are located at the intersection of business strategy, public policy, and business model innovation. Current research examines evolving sharing economy business models, non-market strategy and dynamic capabilities, among others. He has published in peer-reviewed journals including Journal of World Business, Journal of International Management, Business and Society, Cross-Cultural Management and Harvard Business Review among others. He has two books forthcoming in 2024, Digitalization in Emerging Markets to be published by Cambridge University Press and an edited volume, A Research Agenda for Emerging Markets to be published by Edward Elgar in 2025.
